Aldous Huxley (1894-1963) fue un escritor y ensayista británico conocido por su trabajo en el campo de la ciencia ficción y la literatura filosófica. Nació en Godalming, Surrey, Inglaterra, y fue el tercer hijo del biólogo y escritor Julian Huxley y la prima del primer ministro británico Leonard Huxley.

Huxley asistió a la Universidad de Oxford y comenzó a escribir mientras estudiaba allí. Su primera novela, «Crome Yellow», se publicó en 1921 y fue un éxito de ventas. Otros libros notables incluyen «Brave New World» (1932), una distopía futurista sobre una sociedad controlada por el gobierno y la tecnología, y «The Doors of Perception» (1954), un ensayo sobre su experiencia con la mescalina.

Huxley también fue conocido por sus escritos sobre temas filosóficos y espirituales, como «The Perennial Philosophy» (1945), que aborda la idea de una verdad fundamental común a todas las religiones y tradiciones espirituales.

Huxley murió de cáncer de laringe en 1963 en Los Ángeles, California, a la edad de 69 años. Su obra ha sido traducida a muchos idiomas y ha sido influyente en la cultura popular a través de múltiples adaptaciones de sus libros a películas y televisión.
